LaFOLLETTE (WATE) — A call-in program on LaFollette radio station Q105 was the meeting place Friday for some of the people in Campbell County infected with Hepatitis A. They wanted to put their heads together to see if they can figure out why the virus has been a problem in their community.

Two of the three people infected got sick in June. They are joining together to make their voices heard, though they didn’t want to reveal their identity.
Health officials believe at least eight of the most recent cases are linked to two families.
“I am kin to two of the victims, but I have not seen the victims since April the 8th,” said one.
Gloria Milton got sick at the beginning of April. She says she is still recovering. “I was in the hospital for two weeks in April. Went home for two weeks and then went back for almost three weeks. I was very ill.”
Gloria says she still doesn’t know how she got the virus. “We feel like we are taking it on ourselves to try and get some answers.”
People who called into the radio program agreed.
“This lack of information from the health department leaves me to believe that there might be another issue involved,” one caller said.
Some of the people infected with the virus are forming the support group. People who have been sick and want to get involved can call (423) 562-7678.
