Hepatitis outbreak hits New Caney schools

MONTGOMERY COUNTY -- The New Caney School district will vaccinate students for hepatitis A after the second outbreak in as many months.

Eighteen students there were recently diagnosed with hepatitis A and several had to be hospitalized.

The vaccination clinic will be held Monday afternoon at White Oak Middle School where17 students were treated for the illness.

The 18th student attends Crippen Elementary.

The cause of both outbreaks remains under investigation.
